ADHD — Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

Children with ADHD have vibrant, creative minds that work differently. With the right strategies and support, they can channel their energy into extraordinary achievement.

Understanding ADHD

What is ADHD?

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition characterised by persistent patterns of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity that interfere with daily functioning and development. ADHD is one of the most common developmental conditions in childhood, and when properly supported, children with ADHD can thrive across all areas of life.

ADHD presents in three main types: predominantly inattentive (difficulty focusing, easily distracted), predominantly hyperactive-impulsive (restlessness, difficulty waiting, acting before thinking), and combined type. Every child's ADHD profile is unique — strengths and challenges vary widely.

At Reach N Rise, we take a strengths-based approach. ADHD often comes with remarkable creativity, high energy, passion, and the ability to hyperfocus on topics of interest. Our goal is to harness those strengths while building the executive function and self-regulation skills that support success at school and home.
