What We Offer

What is a Developmental Assessment?

A developmental assessment is a thorough, professional evaluation of a child's abilities across key domains — communication, motor skills, cognition, social-emotional development, sensory processing and adaptive behaviour. It goes beyond a standard school test to paint a complete picture of how your child learns, thinks, and interacts with the world.

At Reach N Rise, our assessments are child-friendly, play-based, and conducted in a calm, welcoming environment. We use internationally recognised, standardised tools alongside clinical observation to produce a detailed, actionable report that guides your child's therapy plan.

Whether you're seeking answers after a referral, want to understand your child's learning profile, or need documentation for school support, our assessments provide a solid, evidence-based foundation.

Our Assessment Process

How We Conduct Assessments

Thorough, compassionate, and always child-centred.

01

Pre-Assessment Intake

We gather background information through a detailed parent questionnaire and phone call before your child arrives, so we can tailor the session to their needs.

02

Play-Based Evaluation

Our therapist conducts the assessment in a warm, playroom setting. We use standardised tools alongside naturalistic observation to ensure children are at ease.

03

Standardised Testing

Internationally validated assessment tools appropriate to your child's age and presentation are used to produce scores that can be compared to developmental norms.

04

Interdisciplinary Input

Where relevant, multiple specialists contribute observations — giving you a holistic picture rather than a single-domain view of your child's needs.

05

Written Report

You receive a comprehensive written report within 7–10 working days detailing findings, scores, clinical impressions, and specific therapy recommendations.

06

Parent Debrief Session

We walk you through the report findings in plain language, answer every question, and collaboratively plan the next steps — so you leave with clarity and confidence.
