What is Early Intervention?

Acting Early for the Greatest Impact

Early Intervention (EI) is the most powerful tool available in developmental therapy. The human brain is at its most plastic and responsive in the first six years of life — neural connections are forming at a remarkable rate, and targeted support during this window can redirect a child's developmental trajectory in profound and lasting ways. Missing this window means working harder for smaller gains later.

At Reach N Rise, our Early Intervention programme is comprehensive, family-centred and multi-disciplinary. Rather than targeting one area in isolation, we simultaneously address communication, motor skills, cognition, play, social skills and self-care. Our specialists work directly with your child while coaching you to extend every gain into your daily home routines — because you are your child's most important therapist.

"Research consistently shows that children who receive quality early intervention make gains two to three times greater than those who begin therapy after age six."

Areas of Focus

What We Work On

Our Early Intervention programme is truly multi-domain — targeting all the areas that matter simultaneously for the greatest developmental impact.

Multi-Domain Developmental Support

Simultaneous targeting of communication, motor, cognitive, social and adaptive domains — the only approach proven to produce transformative outcomes in the early years.

Parent-Infant Interaction

Building the quality of early attachment and interaction between parent and child — the bedrock of all developmental learning and emotional security in the first years of life.

Communication & Language

Supporting the full communication journey from pre-verbal skills (eye contact, joint attention, gestures) through first words, vocabulary explosion, and functional language use.

Fine & Gross Motor Skills

Building the physical foundation — from head control and independent sitting, through walking and running, to the hand strength and coordination needed for play and self-care.

Play & Cognitive Skills

Expanding play from simple cause-and-effect through symbolic and pretend play — and building the cognitive foundations of attention, memory, problem-solving and early academic skills.

Family Coaching & Education

Empowering parents and carers with the knowledge, strategies and confidence to embed developmental support into every daily routine — mealtimes, bath, play and bedtime.

Our Approach

How We Deliver Early Intervention

An intensive, family-centred model that puts parents at the heart of every step.

1

Developmental Screening

We begin with a standardised developmental screen to understand your child's current abilities across all domains and identify which areas need the most urgent attention and support.

2

Comprehensive Assessment

A thorough multi-disciplinary assessment involving OT, Speech Therapy and Developmental Specialists — creating a complete, accurate picture of your child's profile before any therapy begins.

3

Family-Centred Goals

Goals are developed collaboratively with parents. We prioritise what matters most for your family's daily life and your child's happiness — not just what looks good on a standardised test.

4

Interdisciplinary Sessions

Intensive therapy sessions — often multiple times per week — that draw simultaneously on OT, Speech, and developmental therapy principles to drive holistic progress across all domains at once.

5

Home Programme

Every family receives a personalised home programme — simple, practical activities you can embed into daily routines. The more practice your child gets between sessions, the faster they progress.

6

Progress Monitoring

We formally review goals every 6–8 weeks using the same standardised tools as the initial assessment — giving you clear, objective evidence of your child's progress over time.

Your Journey

What Your Child's Early Intervention Journey Looks Like

1

Free Consultation (Week 1)

Meet our Early Intervention lead to share your observations and concerns. We'll explain our approach, give you a realistic picture of what to expect, and answer every question. No charge, no obligation.

2

Full Developmental Assessment (Weeks 2–3)

A comprehensive multi-disciplinary assessment covering all developmental domains. We observe your child at play, use standardised tools, and gather detailed history from you — building a complete picture that drives every decision.

3

Intensive Programme Begins (Week 4+)

Intensive, multi-disciplinary sessions — typically 3–5 times per week for young children in the early stages — combined with parent coaching and a tailored home programme. The intensity is what produces extraordinary results.

4

Milestone Reviews (Every 6–8 Weeks)

Regular formal reviews track progress against developmental norms and your child's own goals. We celebrate every milestone — however small — and continuously refine the programme to keep pace with your child's growth.

★★★★★

We started EI at 18 months after noticing our son wasn't pointing or babbling. Two years later he's at mainstream school. Early intervention changed his trajectory completely.
