What is Special Education?

Special Education for Children Who Learn Differently

Special education provides specialised, structured instruction tailored to children with learning disabilities, neurodevelopmental conditions, or significant educational gaps. It is not remedial — it is deeply personalised teaching that meets each child exactly where they are and builds from there.

At Reach N Rise, our special educators use multisensory teaching methods, including the evidence-based Orton-Gillingham approach for literacy, alongside Individualised Education Programme (IEP) development. We work in close partnership with families and schools to ensure consistent, meaningful progress both in sessions and in the classroom.

"Every child can learn — the key is finding the right door. Special education opens the door that works for your child."

Our Approach

How We Deliver Special Education at Reach N Rise

Structured, personalised and evidence-based — designed to unlock every child's academic potential.

1

Educational Assessment

A comprehensive evaluation of your child's academic strengths, learning profile, processing skills and cognitive abilities — giving us a complete, nuanced picture to work from.

2

IEP Development

We co-create an Individualised Education Programme with you and your child. Every goal is specific, measurable and rooted in what your child needs to succeed academically and socially.

3

Multisensory Teaching

We use visual, auditory, kinaesthetic and tactile channels simultaneously — the Orton-Gillingham approach — so concepts are absorbed through multiple pathways for deeper, more durable learning.

4

Home Strategies

We equip families with practical home activities, study tools and environmental adjustments that reinforce session gains and support learning throughout the day.

5

School Coordination

We communicate with your child's school team to ensure IEP goals are reflected in the classroom, and that teachers have the strategies they need to support your child effectively.

6

Regular Reviews

IEP goals and progress are reviewed every 6–8 weeks. We celebrate achievements with your family, update targets and ensure the programme evolves as your child grows.
